Sri Nrisimha Astottara Nama Stotram

This is made of 108 names of Lord Narahari, Nrisimhadeva. This is often chanted by the pujaris or priests in the temple when they are offering flowers dipped in sandalwood to the feet of the deities.

divya simho mahabala
ugra simho maha deva
stambajash chogra lacana

Half man half lion. Great lion. Transcendental lion. Greatly strong. Terrible lion. Greatest of demigods. Born of a pillar. Possessor of terrible eyes.

raudra sarvadbhuta shriman

yoganandas trivikramah

harim kolahalash chakri

vijaya jaya vardhana

Angry One. The all wonderful. Who is accompanied by Lakshmi. The one blissful in yoga. The tallest. Lord Hari. One who roars. The holder of the Sudarshana. Ever glorious. Always victorious.

jvalan mukho jvalamaha
maha jvalo maha prabhuh

One with five mouths. Supreme Brahman. Horrible One. Whose activites are terrible. Possessor of flaming mouth. Possessor of fiery garland. Greatly fiery. Great master.

maha damstra yudhah prajnas
chandakopi sadashivaha

Whose eyes resemble sesame seeds. Thousand eyed One. Who is difficult to see. Chastiser of enemies. Possessor of great teeth. Expert in war. Who is angry at Chanda (a demon, brother of Prachanda). Always auspicious.

guna bhadro maha bhadro
bala-bhadrah subhadrakaha

The killer of Hiranyakasipu. The threatener of the daityas and the danavas. One with auspicious qualities. Greatly auspicious. Possesor of auspicious strength. The very auspicious one.

Thousand handed on. Knower of the everything. Bestower of all mystic poers. Whose teeth are like thunderbolts. Whose nails are like thunderbolts. Greatly blissful. The highest of ascetics.

Who is born in the month of Vaishakha in shukla paksha. The up holder of the earth planet. Affectionate to those surrendered unto Him. Whose fame is spread all over. Pure soul. Great soul. Glorified in the Vedas.
